Occasionally, the Rotary Club of Montreal-Lakeshore will organize an event, such as a golf tournament, to raise funds for one or more charitable organizations or causes. In such a case a portion of the ticket price or entry fee, over and above the net cost of the event, may be eligible for a charitable donation receipt for income tax purposes. For such fundraising events, the club would usually collect all the monies and remit the eligible portion to the Rotaide Foundation so that income tax receipts for the eligible portion can be issued to the donors. The name of the payee (either ROTAIDE FOUNDATION or ROTARY CLUB OF MONTREAL-LAKESHORE) will be specified on the promotional literature and/or tickets for the event.
