Chartered on February 27th, 1961, we are Rotarians working together for the benefit of our community, and in support of the international community service initiatives of Rotary International.

Service in fellowship; while we enjoy meeting and getting to know a lot of people and each other, an incredible synergy is created within the membership which allows us to help a lot of people in our West-Island community namely: the VON (Victorian Order of Nurses), West Island Women's Shelter, Cheshire home for the handicapped, The Palliative Care Centre next to the Lakeshore Hospital among others. We aslo help in other less fortunate areas of the world: We built a well in a Kenyan village, a school library, a demonstration farm, electrical lines to that village and now we are working on a project in Bolivia. As for our future generations, we promote Excellency within our West-Island youth, we hold our annual Public speaking contest with a very generous bursary, we send and receive young exchange students to and from the rest of the world, we send young future leaders to RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) training camp, we sponsor the Adventure in High-Tech and Adventure in Citizenship.

We are proud to be members of the world's oldest service club. Founded in 1905, we are associated with the strong record of local and international community service. Further information on Rotary, its history and its record can be found through our links page at left.

If you are interested in learning more about Rotary in your community or about ROTAIDE foundation, please contact us. We would be pleased to talk to you about Rotary and how you, too, may become a member of this international service organization.
